Learning the power of focus.
Today you get home and you find your daddy has laid a two-by four plank across some two trees. If he asks you to walk across it, you will do it without hesitation . Basically that is right except for the freaks. Okay what if the same plank is laid across two 38 floor storey building and you are asked to cross it. The number of those who will willingly do is indeed small. Why? Because the focus is falling.
In your success life story, how can you maximize on the power of focus?
1. Before you sleep or go to work or start a day, plan and have an aim of what you want to achieve that day or rhte next day. My dad always tells me to wait for a reply the next day on some decisions coz he plans and dreams at night…
2. Take a nap. Some guys suggest taking 25 minutes to sleep mid day during the week. This will re-charge you and get you more focused. Especially if you’re waking up between 5:30-6:30am each morning.
3. Be consistent and persistent. Don’t give up on something after only a couple of tries. It can often take years of toiling away to make you an ‘overnight success’.
4. Keep your promises. Okay seriously how does this help? Kiptoo is a student in high-school, he has always learned to respect his dad and always does what his dad tell him. When the school opened, his dad asked him ” Son what position do you want to be at the end of the term?” Kiptoo knowing he was position 100/ 154 tell his dad I aim to be position 20. Impressively, he does achieve it and exactly that position. Making and keeping a promise is like reinforcing the power of focus.
